To my mind that is a really nice looking mandolin. Quite plain.

I tried a Shippey 10 string mandolin last year (Ewen MacPherson's). Really good.
If I needed a new one I would certainly consider a Shippey.

I tried a Shippey A5 at the end of last year, and was so impressed I ordered one! (admittedly I had gone to see Paul with that exact intention, but I was not disappointed when I tried it out! )

I have been wondering about his 10 string mandolins too Dagger, good to hear of your positive experience, although having seen and heard the quality of his work I am not surprised!

I'm extremely happy with mine and I know Joel McDermott is with his and Andy Boden with his. Very underrated builder imho and a great person to deal with. Paul just showed me some pics of a 10 string build he is doing and it looks fab. Dagger, the Cherry is plain but the sound that comes out of it is amazing......love it to bits.........Rob, speaking from playing Joel's A5, you are in for a treat.......
