Default Melodee music store in DC area

If you are in the Washington DC area (Leesburg,VA) and need to try mandolins. This store has 13 Webers including a Bitterroot and a Rawhide. There were 5 or 6 Eastmans, 3 or 4 mandolas, and at least 15 Gretsch mandolins. The owner, Rick Mock was very nice, left me alone in the room to play what ever I wanted. I played for about two hours switching between my Crystal Forest mandolin and the different Webers. If you are in the area and need to upgrade, this would be the place to start.

Melodee is a great store, I've left quite a bit of money there.....

Rob and his team are the greatest, make sure you check out the annual Acoustifest held early spring. Always a great show.

Sterling - did you check out Melodee Music's Sterling location? Only about 12 miles from their Leesburg location.

Thanks for the tip...just checked their online inventory and it looks really good....some very interesting pieces....did you see that Weber mando-guitar? That's rather unique. And a very, very nice Bitterroot F with quilted maple back...don't see that very often. I echo the OP that people should check this place out.

The mandolin selection is usually much better in the Leesburg store.

I called both stores and Leesburg had the best inventory. The Weber Rawhide was the best of the bunch but it had an extended fretboard that I don't care for. The bitterroot was almost as good and had a flamed maple back that was a work of art.

Those Gretsch's look awful, but that quilting on the Weber was sweeeeeeeeet!
