Thread: "Christmas Time's A-Coming" -- Early Version?

    Default "Christmas Time's A-Coming" -- Early Version?

A couple of years back I heard an old-timey tune from the '20s or '30s or maybe earlier that sounded like an embryonic version of "Christmas Time's A-Coming." I think it was fiddle based, and it had very similar lyrics and melody. It just sounded more primitive and I'm pretty sure it predated the Tex Logan-penned song. Now, I can't for the life of me remember who it was that recorded it. Does this ring a bell with anyone?
