    However, the pan-seared char over a bed of bacon-and-fennel risotto at Milestone 229 (the restaurant where this was shot) was lovely. No mandolins that night; we were on our way to a performance of Puccini's Madama Butterfly.

    Wax, yes, but no scents! I can't imagine any simulated botanical or musky stink hovering immediately below my nose all day.
