I suspect someone is a fan of Joni Mitchell. I hoped JPJ was going to sign with his symbol at the end of the video.

I thought the same thing...no symbol but made sure folks knew he was from Led Zep.

....I wonder what John Paul Jones symbol really means..and why they all have symbols of their own

I wish i had a river so long i'd teach my feet to wear some shoes...

Yep, there were moments of almost cut and paste Joni there - i never know what opinion i have of someone of who wears an influence so heavily.
Or, to be more fair - because i don't know who influenced the singer - i find it hard to gauge an act when they're sound is close to one that i already associate with someone else.

I'll have to try to listen again on another set of speakers - at the moment i'm a bit non-plussed about the use of mandolin in this, not the playing as such, more the mix of sounds between the instruments. Perhaps that was due to the space they were played in? - i don't know.

Still though, i am intrigued to investigate some other musics by Ms Susanna and co.

If I recall correctly, JPJ's symbol refers to someone ho is both confident and (accurately enough) competent.

Does that mean then that if it was reversed, or upside-down- it would refer to someone who is bumbling and insecure?

It's not a lot different from the symbol on my Weber headstocks.

That sounds a lot like the style of Kate Bush to me.

JPJ's symbol was picked randomly from an occult book Jimmy Page had. He and Bonham didn't get to choose theirs, while Robert made his own, and Page chose his from the same book.
