    Default choro-ized ragtime

Some strange collections have appeared at http://www.choromusic.com/, Choro Meets Ragtime and Choro Meets Bach. They come with playalong tracks, which you can preview to get the idea.

To my ears these tunes don't work very well - the choro soul is missing. What's next, Choro Meets the Beatles?

Ask and you shall receive, John:

    Lot's more online.

A friend brought a copy of this Beatles 'n' Choro CD a few years ago. Great players and kind of fun, but I can't say I've listened to it much.

    I'm hoping for "Barbershop Choro".

Is it true you're working on "A Friend of the Choro is a Friend of Mine"?

Hey, (Jude) that cover of volume two is wrong. It has Paul playing a right-handed mandolin!

All this is a little too tame for me. I suppose some of these tunes will work but they don't seem to have the electricity of the Brazilian tunes. Hamilton really plays on this series? Hmmmmm...

Well, there are a good share of bluegrass-ized Beatles for sure. A few years back there was a lot of reggae-ized pop tunes. Why not? It is all worth a try, I suppose but I prob would not buy these recordings.

There are some pretty heavy hitters playing in that series.. My favorite is the choro-ized "The Inner Light". Nothing like a Brazilian take on an Englishman playing sitar music.
