Anyone have a picture of the room in the headstock area on the new caltons?

Texas Calton - Hard to get a good shot, camera plays trickery, but the neck is deep saddled and the top lid is padded in place, so with the slanted box (under the body) the mandolin doesn't move once the case is shut. And it closes tight. Re-designed completely from the earlier Calton's.

believe so Alan. also, the exterior of the case is way better than my earlier ones, overall slightly larger but not by much. the new molds being used also produce a more pleasing exterior, softer edges, better material for the actual shell of the case itself. i think probably the best case on the market.

Is there a good place to put a humidifier in the case?

I like the headroom in the new Northfield cases. They seem to be as roomy in that area as the Travelite cases,

I have no idea what you use for a humidifier, the size of it and or how it attaches...there's a compartment under the neck but seems like that would reduce effectiveness if it were shut in the compartment. There is a small amount of room under the peghead.

I use a Dampit Violin Humidifier in my mando so there is no issue in the Calton whatsoever. I feel the mando benefits best with a source of humidification on the inside of the instrument.

I normally keep my instruments in a humidified room, When I travel, I keep a Planet Waves Small Instrument humidifier in my Calton case. It fits neatly between the storage box and the heel of the mandolin.
