Default Prospero Canciello trio for 2 mandolin and B. Continuo

    So great.

I wish it played to the end.

Very strange that the video cuts off at beginning of third movement. Too bad.

Great video. I think the composer is also spelled "Cauciello" -- under that name there's an IMSLP page which has 12 violin (or mandolin) duos and three quintets (two flutes, two violins and cello).

This particular piece is not on IMSLP, but there's an edition by Siegfried Behrend published by Zimmermann. There are a couple of other Youtube recordings of the piece, both played at a much slower tempo than the one posted by Jeff.

I like the enthusiasm of the players. One feels like nothing will get in their way.

Strange. I do not see the quintets at that link, Martin. Only the two duets.

I believe we played that Canciello piece (as in the youtube video) at the 90th Aniversary concert of the NY Mandolin Orchestra a few years ago.

Click on the "Collections" tab for the quintets. These seem to be misfiled by IMSLP, as they look to be original compositions by Cauciello and should be in the "Compositions" tab instead.

Ah, they are at this link: 3 Quintets, Op.1 (Cauciello, Prospero).

This arrangement for mandolin orchestra was probably closer in feel and tempo to the one we olayed in NYMO:
