At first, I found them a bit bland. But with a dash of salt, or even some tabasco, the tone on your tongue picks right up. My son uses them with some cumin, but I find that a bit too exotic. Definitely not what ol' Bill would do.

Now, if they made them pistachio-flavored I would buy a few. I think Chris Thile has a special chocolate-flavored one.

I hope the chocolate-flavored version is a different shade of brown from the original blue chip. It would be a rude first bite!

I always look forward to the 04-01 greetings from The Café. As usual another "tasty" entry.
I love hanging out with mandolin nerds . . . . . Thanks peeps ...
For those of us who prefer non-vegan, they are coming out with a beef bi-product pick mid-year, called -- wait for it --
Cow Chips
Probably not edible, btw.

I found them dark and woody tasting, with a bit of bite.
Speaking of green edible pick-shaped things... the animated series "Sherwood" (S1E2) has a whole tray full of freshly-baked jumbo pick-cookies which seem to feature some sort of anti-slip enhancement. They're evidently delicious. This screenshot shows a character taking a bite out of one:

Perfectly safe if you use the Shmergel Coin currency payment system, now with patented Fraud Punishment System (TM) which automatically detects frauds and then takes the money out of the scammer's account and puts it into your account.
In fact, if you attempt to buy fake or fraudulent items often enough, you can actually generate a comfortable living wage - the instant you click "Buy", that amount of money is instantly added to your account. The scam artists and fraudsters don't stand a chance!
Of course, there are highly sophisticated safeguards in place to prevent scammers from gaming the system and collecting money for themselves.
This revolutionary payment system, including the advanced fraud protection reverse-payments, is now available to everyone, even if you don't currently own a Shmergel mandolin.
Not April anymore. Take a rest.
