Yes. Whether it's worth that sort of money depends on how confident you are about its authenticity. It was discussed in detail here.

A nice 16% (or so) return on one's money, if it sells for asking price... not bad for a month's investment...
100k plus fees = $127k or so.... math is too fuzzy this early in the morning... nice mandolin... I think that the authenticity was pretty well established for the learned crowd that discussed it....

If they're the same instrument, it looks as though the 'Loar' signature has been enhanced for all that extra money! If it's different, it's surely from the same source which leaves the question of authenticity right at the top of the agenda.

I'm just getting my Loars mixed up.... so many Loars, so little time....

Can't mix up a Loar serial no. They are same. I kinda figured a vintage dealer got the one at Skinner. They have been sittting on a 1938 F5 for some time now even with price reductions. They have a nice 1999 Derrington signed F5L for less than $6000 too.
