    Im interested in learning more old time mando. any suggestions for resources and places to start?

    AD,

    I Just got a copy of Mike Seeger's Old Time Mandolin book and tape from Homespun. It opened my eyes to a few things, especially rythym playing.

    Amazing Slow Downer. It's software that allows you to slow tunes down. Then get fiddle cds on rounder records and slow them down.

    They're midi's, but still learnable for mando. Really, any fiddle tune can easily be transposed over to the 8-string.
