    With mandolin now...

    1,2,3,4...

    Stonehenge, where the demons dwell
Where the banshees live and they do live well

    Stonehenge
Where a man is a man and the children dance to
    the pipes of pan

    Stonehenge
Tis a magic place where the moon doth rise
    With a dragon's face

    Stonehenge
    Where the virgins lie
And the prayer of devils fill the midnight sky

And you my love, won't you take my hand
We'll go back in time to that mystic land
Where the dew drops cry and the cats meow
    I will take you there
    I will show you how

At the exhortation of our bassist, I always play the mandolin interlude from Stonehenge at least once per chruch band rehearsal. Must put him in a worshipful mood.

Does anyone remember when Spinal Tap showed up on the Simpsons?

I especially like the interview with KBBL Radio ( K Bable )

The Interviewer: I'm going to share you with a phrase that has dogged you throughout your careers, "Washed Up". What do you say about that?

Cool! I just learned that little tune the other day!

I don't play it at worship band practice though... what I DO play is the bass intro to Big Bottom!

Careful! When the faithful figure out what y'r a playin' and hear those lyrics, you might be stoned as a druid heretic.
Note the faithful: Remember it's the player, not the mandolin that is the heretic. Don't stone the mando!

(Spinal Tap's) Nigel claims that while 95 percent of his inspiration to write songs comes from dreams, the other 5 percent is the result of indigestion. "You know, you go out and have some Indian food, come back, have a very severe stomach ache, start to sweat a bit, pull out pen and paper, start writing furiously, and who knows? Before I wrote ‘Stonehenge,’ we’d gone to a place called Star of India, and I was—I mean, I was crawling about on the floor, you know. That curry really went right to the old you-know-what. So I was sittin’ on the porcelain bus, and the song just flashed into my mind."

    Spruce,
Don't even point at the Flyme...

The Gospel According to Spinal Tap: This pretentious ponderous collection of religious rock psalms is enough
to prompt the question: What day did the Lord create Spinal Tap and couldn't he have rested on that day too?

and my all time favorite....I mean, you know when you've loved and lost the way Frank has, then you know what life's about.

One of the funniest things I've ever seen was Spinal Tap hitting the stage on wires suspended over the audience...

    "Ladies and gentlemen, Spinal Tap!!"

And here they came, flying over the audience, with David and Nigel, guitars blazing away as they hit the stage and unhook themselves, and the Go-Go's drummer flailing away onstage (is she dead yet??), except when Derek (remember the pod??) gets to within 10 feet of the stage, his cable snags, and he's left dangling oh-so-close to where he wants to be...

He attempts to sing his part into the mic that is a few feet below him, and then, as the song ends, is uncerimoniously cut down by a stagehand to fall into a heap onstage...

    What an entrance...

I still have the setlist here somewhere....
I do remember "Break Like the Wind", their power-ballad of the day...
