Default Vince Gill Big "D" 12 string mandola

This show came up on my dish. Vince Gill and Sting and Vince Gill on one song plays a 12 string electric hollow bodied mandola,(is what it looked like to me). It had a "D" on the headstock. Anyone ever see one or know who made it?

So not 4 courses of 3 but 6 courses of 2 --it's a guitar then-- tuned an octave higher and in 4th not 5ths. Still cool anyway.

Yeah, you can call it a mando, but it's really just a little guitar.
    Kind of ironic, really.
