Default Fender electric mandolin fret size

Does anyone know what fret wire Fender used on their electric mandolins from the 50s - early 70s?

I played one from 1962 recently and loved the way the frets felt, and am thinking I'd like to specify it on another electric mando I have that needs new frets. It seemed to me the fret wire was pretty big--maybe even their regular guitar wire from the time.

But I'd like to know for sure.

    Thanks!

I don't know the answer to your question, but either 37x80 or 40x80 work well on an e-mando and are probably about as chunky as I would want to go, both are on the smaller end of guitar fretwire sizes, but nothing like the skinny mandolin/banjo wire.
