Default advice about recording on an ipod touch with garage band

    fellow mandolin brothers,
I'll be getting a new ipod touch (4th gen) for Christmas this year. I'd would like to use garage band to start recording some multi-track songs that I've been writing. What advice would you give me about the best recording set-up? I'll be doing the vocals, guitar, and of course, the mandolin tracks all by myself. I have access to some decent microphones, but I'll be recording and mixing the actual tracks on the ipod.

My mandolin has a L.R. Baggs pickup, but my Gibson LG-2 guitar (1942) doesn't...

    thanks,
    br. Michael Paul

I guess the big question in my mind is what kind of mic do you plan on using with the iPod? The internal mic is actually not too bad!

The software is pretty intuitive, but I've done only casual mixing/editing using the iOS versions... I usually use the full Mac version.
