    I played this in one take, no rehearsal, so it's a little raw, but it's also spontaneous.


    "It was a Very Good Year" (I'll fix the name on YouTube). I was fortunate to meet Evin Drake who wrote the song in 1961 about three years ago. He had just turned 90. He said the song was autobiographical, and he's still married to the girl he wrote about. Hey, it's better than the William Shatner version!

    I admit I'm shooting for low standards with that one. Are you old enough to remember Senator Everett McKinley Dirksen who launched that genre? (I don't think this clip is authentic, but I believe he did actually do a spoken World album.)
