I never take off the straps on my mandolins, so for my Buchanan I simply made the strap semi-permanent by removing the screwed-in strap button (not an endpin) and installing a fat rubber washer between the strap and the button. I would need to get out the Swiss Army knife to unscrew it, but it will stay on unless the screw pulls out. I did this for both ends of the strap.
For my electric I use the exact technique in the video--see my "25 cent Straplok" post. Could be that it's an obvious design choice, but it is shaped precisely like mine. That thread has several good ideas, including the rubber washer.

Easy one......Buy a bottle of Grolsch...drink contents.......remove sealing washer from stopper and.........cheap and briefly enjoyable strap lock _(:
me being the big spender i am ,spent a dollar and some on some generic strap lock plastic thingy that i forgot i had put on so i guess it works great . i do not remove my straps either
