Schwab #177 has arrived. I am having some difficulty posting the picture, so I placed a picture of it in my album. Please take a look at Kevin Schwab's handiwork.
You should know that 177's ease of play rivals its looks.

Wow! That is great. I wasn't even aware that he was still building these. He is one of the early makers of solidbody electrics.

Beautiful. It looks to of similar construction to my #117. I played mine tonight with a rock band, and it was awesome.

Regarding the details, it has a mohogany body, maple neck, ebony fretboard, and a koa laminate top. The action is low, and the intonation is perfect. The neck is flawless, and I love the tone. It is really very nice; it is perhaps more e-mando than I will ever need.
I learned a long time ago when I was burning through inexpensive clarinets that a cheap instrument will almost always either play or sound cheap. I never regret spending money on a good musical instrument.

Travis,
Thanks for posting the details. Great looking mando! Is it one of the Michael Lampert models (smaller body) or is it a standard Schwab? Also, what type of pickup did Kevin use and does it have that fat tone?
Thanks
Alan
Ed, my rig is as follows: Schwab > Sonic Research Tuner > Egnater Tweaker 112. In the effects loop: Amp > Diamond Compressor > Pigtronix Tremvelope > Hardwire RV-7 Reverb > Amp. With this amp, I can move from a blues overdrive to a nice jazz clean.
Alan, this is a regular Schwab body style. It has a Bartolini pickup; however, I am not sure which model he uses. Yes, in my rig it has a nice, fat tone.
Thanks,
Travis
