Extreme sadness: Garry Harrison died in his sleep Monday night at the age of 58. He was a midwestern old-time treasure. His music and influence will be sorely missed.

We have lost one of Old Time's finest. The untimely loss of Gary Harrison will leave a huge hole in the Old Time community. My thoughts and prayers go out to the Harrison Clan, Gary will be sorely missed.
Gary Harrison and his daughter Genevieve (Harrison) Koester performing at Techline in Champaign, IL in 2008.
Good bye Gary... thanks for all of the tunes...
Sucker for a hard luck case
I feel your pain as we here in Montana recently lost our bluegrass icon, Walt Timmerman.
A huge influence to fiddlers and repertoires in the OT community. He will be greatly missed indeed. RIP Garry Harrison, thanks for so many great tunes and so much great music.
Last night at our weekly session we played Red Prairie Dawn in his memory. Back at home I listened to Road to Westfield and Steam Machine before going to bed. He composed many great new tunes that sound like they've been around forever. He leaves a vibrant legacy.
How can that be? That is terrible news about a good person with amazing talent. What a loss for music. Doug in vermont
