Default Saga MT-10 Solid Body emando kit

    Anybody have experience with these?

They are going for around $120 around the web, and as a total beginner interested in an emando, I thought it might be worth a shot.

I have never built an instrument, but I'm relatively handy, and have done a little woodworking here and there. Thanks!

Thanks, now I know if I get it, not to get it from them... I just chose that link 'cause it had a good description. My real question is on what the kit is like to set up, etc.

This kit is quite easy to build, but the nut will need a serious setup (the G & D strings don't fit the slot).
The instrument is easy to play and very fun !

I'm not sure how to post the link, but if you go to Youtube and look for 'Cherokee Shuffle mandolin' you'll run across a guy playing a Saga kit mandolin. So sweet it'll make you want one today. He also has a cool version of Back up and push. Proof positive that you don't have to shell out big bucks to get a great electric sound.

I think you're talking about that man :

    or
    http://www.youtube.com/user/rothrock...16/JbA4_5Wba2U He's an amazing multi-instrumentist !
So bad, he removed a terrific - but very personal - version of "Foggy Mountain Breakdown" !

I built one of these kits but I modded mine. The nut is garbage. I didn't use the pickup, bridge, tailpiece, pickguard, and some other parts that came with mine. I am playing it in my avatar at a gig. It's a fun mandolin. I have loaned it to a friend for now though and I'm playing an Eastwood.
