Not specific to this choice, which may have already been resolved..
but you can hide small material flaws, with a sunburst and/or black top, but not with clear finish.
Flaws may not effect sound, but may make the purchaser on comfortable, seeing them..

Good call on the Goldrush. I have owned both and generally preferred the GR's look and voice.
That's a real nice looking Goldrush; and if you've kept it for 12 years, she must sound great!

Boy those Goldrush Gibby's sure look great to me, I've heard they sound different compared to the other lacquer Gibson's like the F5-G and F5-L? Whats the difference, to me the F-holes look smaller? Are they graduated the same? Are the tone bars in a different spot? Just a curious Gibson nut here
I just got my 2002 F-9 re-fretted with "banjo-width" Evo-gold frets a couple of months ago. Also got the v-profile gently rounded, got a speed neck w/French polish (because I had worn most of the neck finish off anyway), a new nut and a complete pro setup. Wow, what a difference.
I'm sure you'll love yours as well. It's amazing how much easier these little guitars are to play when there are usable frets!
