Pickamania! — Mimbres Region Arts Council presents 2nd annual the celebration of folk, bluegrass and Americana acoustic musical traditions is Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 12-13, in Gough Park, corner of Pope and 12th Streets in Silver City, N.M. Information: (575) 538-2505.

I'll be the crusty plucker on bass with the dusty buskers from tucson at the friday night street dance, opening the saturday show with them, mc'ing saturday, and thumping with the adobe brothers on sunday, otherwise sampling the green room hors d'oeurves full time. Don Musser and Dan Swanson built a fine acoustic guitar for the raffle this year- $5 tickets coming soon

I spent considerable amount of time in Silver, but that was before pickmania. I am thinking this might be fun.

Kudo's to Bill Bussman and gang for putting on a bang up show this year. Any disappointments? Sure........I chicked out of the Band Scramble this year but next year I won't make that mistake. But the flip side of the coin was that I didn't bring down any of the contestants

Seriously though Anne & Pete Sibley stole it on Saturday for me.

If you look real hard, I believe you can see Oldwave Maker plucking the base for the Adobe Bros. on Sunday

On Sunday the Fish Tank Ensemble really stood out as the act to be. I think Mini-8String said it the best when he said quote "they sure do play fast"

Keith, pics are great. Looks like a great time. I would of rather been there, but you know how it is when you are making a few $. I have a new mando in the works and it is almost finished, so you do what is needed. Thanks for the pics.
