They're not electric,but I just had to share these instruments.

Campanella Strings in Burlington Vt. makes acoustic mandos which are built using violin making materials and techniques, which makes sense since Joseph Campanella Cleary started out as a violin maker and still makes beautiful fiddles.

He makes heartbreakingly beautiful A,F and two point mandolins with violin touches like matched fiddleback maple backs, traditional varnishes, purfling, etc. No binding is used. Instead, the top and back overlap the sides, just like on a violin. In particular, I find the melding of the hundreds of year old design of a traditional violin with that of a relatively modern F-Style mandolin totally marvellous. If I was ever in the market for a high end instrument, this would be my hands down first choice. Take a look:
