New from the crazy genius of Pete Langdell, Rigel's new I-100.
And you saw it here first!
A closer look at the I-110 headstock. Where else would you find such 21st Century innovation?!
Michael Kelley Octave!!
Will Kimble, Roland White, Peter Mix...
Yes, they will exist! Dunlop Ultex "Tri" picks...
AND in 1.14 gg!
Fender introduces Zouk & Octave...
Labeda Booth...
Gibson Booth.
(Please, no comments about the legs...)
Yes, it is an Alan Bibey mando.
Of course, MY favorite booth at the show...
I love that blue Rigel "A"!!
ted,
was peter playing a "pink" mandolin? and scott too?

"Pink???"
Oh heavens, no!...
More of a Salmon, or perhaps a Peach Bisque. Depending on the lighting, it can be a Blanched Almond, or dare I say, a Mousseline Citron...
No. Not pink.
What the #$%& .......
Makes me wish for seafoam green again........GAK!
The I-100............uh.....ok #
#I-110, face/slot Tuner mix reminding one of Rickenbacker 12 strings.
Could a 5 course 10 string be in the works? 2-4 0n a plate, and a couple singles on the otherside.

"Mandolins are an Illness" Conrad Deislar
Sorry, didn't mean to avoid your question. This was the infamous "Jethrine."
Gorgeous tortise shell binding, abalone inlay, and really the pictures DON'T do it justice. It is a treat visually, and sounds every bit as good as it looks.
That one was a hard one to put down.
Great pictures Ted! Thanks!!
I've always been crazy, but it kept me from going insane! (W.J.)
Syncopation rules the nation! (S.J.)
Drum roll... my postcards, in no particular order and for no rhyme or reason. What I did on my summer vacation at NAMM. First up, this new F mandolin from repair pro Sim Daley was in the possession of Butch Baldassari. We hung out almost every day at NAMM and Sunday he brought this by and we played various mandolins in our possession. If Sim makes every one like this my response is: watch out. Dead on. Great box. I'd own this if I could.
Saturday at NAMM: L-R, the builder of a future mandolin for me is Will Kimble with bluegrass legend Roland White and Peter Mix of Rigel. Got to play a few tunes with Roland. He's a national treasure!
The "Dude", Lynn Dudenbostel on the left with Peter Mix of Rigel. First time I've had the pleasure of meeting Lynn. Now you'd never guess what we're up to. I'm not telling, Lynn, and you'd better not either!
This is Jim Curley of the Shawnee, KS music store Mountain Music Shoppe. I've know Jim for some time now and he runs a great acoustic music store. So what's he doing here? Jim has what I'd believe to be the only Weber Mandolin tattoo in the world. Bravo, Jim. Lots of tattoos in lots of... ahem, interesting places at the NAMM show. Jim's has some mojo.
That I-100 is crazy-cool! How does it sound?
Hey, I always dug that seafoam green, but I guess it did sort of look like it could be an accessory for an Italian motor scooter.Originally Posted by

Always present at NAMM, the boys from Collings. Center, the new MF5 Deluxe V. Tongue oil varnish, etched tailpiece (not on this prototype), fancier headstock inlay, extra purfling, waverly tuners. Yowza. Beastly box. Not yet available on their web site. This one was going to the folks at Cotten Music. I visited Cotten Thursday before the show. Great music store and Darcy and Kim and wonderful folks.
