So that's where it went. The day I planned on calling it was sold. Luck of the draw, I guess. How's she sound anyway?

    Sorry Merc,
I peruse the sites daily. I took one look at that blonde, whipped out my cell phone and said "ship It!" I was actually thinking of having one made like this because I hadn't seen any for sale.
The sound is quite nice. Really good action too. I must admit that I'm liking going back to a round neck better than the "V".

Yeah, is that a recent model? It looks very nice and I would like to see more models like that.

I glimpse the orange label inside, tells me 60's vintage.

They were using orange labels while still in Montana weren't they?

..They didnt make Ferns in the 60's did they.....if this is a 60's Fern it must be a total custom job from the get-go....I personally dont think its a 60's...more like a 2000ish...but what do I know

...according to Gruhn it's an '81 custom order. Seems to have spent MOST of its time in the case.

Thanks for the carbon dating <g>.

This one reminds me of a very ornate F-5 that Butchie has/had, which was painted white with a painting on the back or something. Too thick to sound good, but yummy to gander at.

I think so, Baldassari had it up for sale for a long time, don't know if it sold or not.

..the blonde 5 that Frank had was his Loar....one of many colors its had thru the years....Todd Philips finally got ahold of it and refinished back to its origional hue...
