I'll be in Pittsburgh next week and will be looking to pick or listen to some good acoustic music. Any leads?

Not necessarily to pick, but to sight-see, might wanna stop by Acoustic Music Works. Never been there but I wish I had the time to make the trip from Philly:

Ther Acoustic Music Works is the place to start. There are bundles of greta mandolins in there (Weber, Collings, Phoenix, Stiver, Breedlove, Eastman, Gibson, etc.), and the owner, Steve, is a good guy to talk to. He'll tell you whatever he knows about what's going on around there. Believe me, he knows it all, regarding the acoustic/mandolin scene.

Beyond AMW in the Burgh, there's an open bg jam over the Allegheny in Blawnox at the Starlite every week. Some pretty good pickers tend to frequent the place. Also look on WYEP's homepage at wyep.org, and also look at the Calliope's events page, http://www.calliopehouse.org/calendar.htm. If'n you get to the Starlite, tell Moondog his favorite rabbi (formerly from Fox Chapel) sent ya!

Also, I concur about Steve at AMW. He's a great guy, knows the scene as well as his inventory, and all sorts of wonderful folks are to be found at the shop.
