Default Larson Brothers Flat Top Mandolin

A friend of mine who's helping sort out an estate brought over a mandolin that he rescued from the dumpster. It sure looks like a Larson flat top (detailed fretboard inlays, what appears to be an ebony layer underneath the fretboard, detailed purfing, and plate tuners). However, I cannot see a serial number anywhere (IIRC should be on the top brace by the soundhole), so don't know how to determine if its the real thing, or a Harmony/Regal... Any advice on how to proceed?

That's a very nice Harmony mandolin. Very much like this Supertone (Sears brand) on Jake Wildwood's site but with less bling. Neither Carl nor August built that mandolin.
