Funny how once you get into instruments you can't look at anything made of wood without thinking what it would look like in an instrument. I went to an awards show in the school gym for one of my kids and noticed the floors were made of strips of maple. Some of it had amazing figure with some birdseye, and highly flamed and even some quilted maple! I couldn't beleive they would use it in a gym floor!

We noticed that a stunning birdseye maple handrail/bumperrail in a hospital corridor was replaced with lesser maple. Some maintenance guy is likely a woodworker. Our tax dollars hard at work!
