Buy Herchel Sizemore's instructional DVD from Acutab and support Hershel. It's all tabbed out and broken down.

There's a lot of good versions on mandozine.com. Try to play Chris Thile's second break on it. That will definetly make a man out of you .

Just my ongoing pet peeve regarding tab requests. If it's available in a way that supports the artist, I think we, as a community, need to do so. The Acutab instructional DVDs are marvelous and heads above Homespun. Herschel's is an excellent DVD (as is Alan Bibey's, Wayne Benson's, Ronnie Stewart's, etc.)

I've met Herchel several times. The first was in Ft. Collins at a winter festival. I asked him then if he had it out in any form of transcription. He told me, "I wouldn't know anything about that." I asked what then made his decision to play it in the key of B? At that time it was a key I avoided on mando.

He replied, " It just felt right there."

It was probably 7 or 8 years later that I got fed up and one weekend wore out the cd and "learnt it off the record".

After that B was easy to pick in.

Rebecca is also available from a Butch Baldassari workshop that has paid its proper royalties.

Rebecca will just about 'play itself' if you are familiar with the chord scheme and chart #s, but you will need to have memorized the melody well ! Know the number of beats in each chord, and 'play in the chord' !,...-get that down, then go back and fill in all the embellishments .

I'll bet some have been waiting 12 years for that insight; last previous post was August 2006.

Regarding TAB for 'Rebecca' - which version ?. Herschel's original version on his recording ''Bounce Away'', is quite different from his later recording on his CD ''Back In Business'' which is my preferred version.

As for Herschel's tuition DVD,in which he's very abley aided by Alan Bibey,it's maybe one that all mandolin players should have, not only for the tuition, but because it's such a 'sociable' DVD,that you almost get to know Herschel & Alan. If you can find a used copy HS's Accutab Transcription book vol. 1,buy it. It has 5 tunes from his recordings ''Back In Business'' ( inc. Rebecca - his later version) in it, & 10 tunes from ''My Style'' tabbed out,
