Thread: 'Zouk bridge

Just entered the world in a very happy way with my first 'Zouk. I may, however, be in the market for a replacement bridge, and havent had much luck with general internet searches for suppliers (a pretty selective market, I know). Anyone out there know of a good source for these bridges? Any tips fo replacing? The 'Zouk is Trinity, and I am quite happy with the sound and intonation, so dont necessarily need to upgrade, just replace a very slightly chipped one.

Thanks all for any help you can offer!

There really isn't a source for zouk bridges that I know of. You may be able to modify a bridge blank intended for a flat top mandolin. You could ask the store where you got the zouk to contact Saga for a replacement (If it was used or the store doesn't deal with Saga let me know & I'll contact them for you) It will still have to be fitted and the action and intonation set. You could also contacr a luthier who builds zouks & have a custom bridge made.

Elderly Instruments had a replacement bridge for my old Trinity OM. Not sure if it's the same bridge they use on the 'Zouk, but you could give them a try.

good idea, Gerry... I can't imagine they'd have different bridges for OM's vs. 'zouks.

Also-- there are folks on ebay who sell bridge blanks... you could buy a couple of those cheap and notch 'em yourself. It's not hard to do ... but have a spare just in case.

You might also try some luthier suppliers and/or post your question on the builders forum.

Try these made by Cafe member dave17120 in France. Cost 15 Euro plus postage. I have two of his bridges, they're very nicely made.
