Godin Emando

I have actually played one but it was back when I had just started learning so I didnt have a good basis for comparison, but it was very easy to play and sounded fine,and had some nice electronics to boot...but I seem to remember reading about some tops that caved in and didnt know if this was an isolated incident or a design flaw...any reveiws would be helpful...thanks Trip

Apart from one Godin A8 I had, I haven't seen any reports of top problems.

And it didn't "cave in". When I got the mando, the action was too high for my liking. But after a few months the top sunk a bit under the bridge making the string height ideal in my opinion.

However I was worried that it might sink further and wasn't convinced Godin would replace it if I waited too long.

So I sent it back. That first Godin was the sweetest electric mando I've played and I wish I'd stuck with it. The new one doesn't sound anything as nice plugged in but I have to live with it.

Definitely give Godin a try.

IMHO: Best sounding Piezo is the RMC bridge pieces and the Godin Uses them in the A8, nice 3 band and V pots too.

I have used one consistently for about 2.5-3 years in a rock and roll band and have tried many others. I find it to be the easiest mando to use on stage. Great sound and playability, excellent electronics, no complaints at all. John

My A8 is great. It sounds more natural than any other amplified string instrument that I've ever tried or owned. I've had mine for over 2 years without any problems.
