i've only seen small pictures of Ryder emandos, but from what i saw, the pickups don't seem to look that great...kind of unclean or something and unprofessional. Anyone here have opinions about this? maybe they could send a close up photo of their Ryder with the pickups..cuz maybe they actually do look good and the pictures were not doing the pickups justice.
i want my Ryder EM-45 to look professional..

Looking at his website, they look respectable enough to me.

kinda what a pickup thats handmade looks like. its more of an issue of a covering for the pickup, rather than the pickup, itself, I guess?

yes too bad you can't get the pickups with a sort of clean metal covering..but i guess they do look ok, judging from the pickup section of his website

a metalsmith/silversmith/ jeweler could custom make one, from sheet stock.
I learned the techniques , but they chased me away from the studio when the tuition payments ended.

Im thinking Tele like nickle plated brass, myself, when cover is presented idea.

I have had difficulty finding pickup rings for mando pickups because they are sized much smaller than standard pickups. My solution for custom pickup rings, as well as other parts, is to take either a piece of pickguard material or metal to a trophy shop and have them cut it with their engraving machine. They can't cut all the way through, but enough that I can finish it with a razor blade. Works great and doesn't cost much at all. Just be clear on the dimensions because they need to take the diameter of the cutting plade into consideration. If not, it canthrow the opening off by 1/8".
