Default W S Jacksom Mandolins - South Bend, Indiana

Jacksom should be Jackson - I can't change the title of the post...

Anyone know anything about this builder? I played a copy of a master model (with Gibson on the headstock) that he built in the late 70s. I can't find anything about him on line anywhere. Thanks

I just bought a Gibson F-5 mandolin in Marietta GA dated 1977 South Bend Indiana crafted by WS Jackson! It's an absolute beauty and she sounds incredible. I too wasn't able to find any info. Would love find out more for sure.

From Atlanta Vintage Guitar? That's where I think I saw it, when I posted originally.

I recently retopped a W.S. Jackson F5. The sides had some funky looking places on them. Let’s see some pictures please.

How do I post pics? I can't find any options to upload them from my phone.

Yes that's where I got it. Once I figure out how to get pics posted I'll reply.

That's the most serious finish crackle I've ever seen on a mandolin. Looks pretty awesome!

Yeah it's pretty sick, nothing I've ever seen on any other instrument.

I love the mojo on that one and it obviously was well-loved and well-played. Lots of snap, crackle, and pop. BTW no need to post this multiple times. The people who need to see it will find it.
