From almost smack in the middle of the state...Mocksville, Davie County.
Why is it city and street names are so interesting and strange in places you don't live? Rural Great Brittan has some doozies.

The small town (and I mean small) of Rutherfordton, about an hour East of Asheviile in the foothills. Home to WNCW-FM, the coolest Americana/mandolin friendly station on the planet. Lots of old time and bluegrass players in the area.
Just south of Hickory.

I was born in Raleigh. Mom’s from Mt Airy and Dad’s from Statesville. But I’ve been living in Chicago for over 30 years. I’m waiting on a Cedar Mountain Banjo from Tim Gardner who’s near Brevard. So one way or another I’m close to lots of you folks in spirit.
I lived in the mountains near Robbinsville. I moved over the mountains to Townsend, Tn. A lot more pickers over here!
Also, if anyone's in the Asheville surrounding area and likes the rougher Monroe, Buzz Busby, et al style playing, I'd love to meet up and pick around!
Born and raised in Durham. I now live as far away as I can afford to(West coast is too expensive).
