Default Love Theme from "Romeo and Juliet" (Nino Rota)

This is Nino Rota's famous love theme from the soundtrack of the 1968 Franco Zeffirelli film adaptation of Romeo and Juliet. Rota is of course best known in mandolin circles for his soundtrack for The Godfather, but this one was also a huge hit, reaching #1 in the US pop charts in 1969, albeit not with Rota's original soundtrack recording by with a cover version by Henry Mancini leading many to think that Mancini wrote the tune, rather than Rota. The tune was later also used for the song "A Time for Us".

My recording for two mandolins is based on an arrangement for two violins uploaded to Musescore:
