Default Cool music venues in Savannah GA?

Hi Cafe - I'm on my way to Savannah for a few days and wondered if anyone has suggestions for music venues like to have bluegrass, new acoustic or other string oriented music - thanks!

Oddly enough, I'm headed to Savannah next week and was wondering the same thing.

Two recommendations if you're looking for spots a bit less touristy. Check out Kevin Barry's pub down on River St for some fine Irish music and beer. If you're a veteran (or not), ask Brian behind the bar if you can check out the Hall of Heroes upstairs. And if you get a chance, Tybee Island is worth the short drive. Grab a slice of pizza at Huc-a-poo's, you'll be pleasantly surprised.

Thanks! I'm staying just a couple of blocks from there and will have several evenings free. I'll definitely walk over there and check it out. Any other recommendations for good music and/or food within walking distance of that area?

Check out the Ordinary Pub on Broughton St. for some great food! Make sure to try the Pork Belly Donut Slides as an app and then try not to get a second order for your main course!!

Definitely The Pickin Parlor. Churchill’s on Bay Street used to have an open mic night with some pretty good talent. Don’t know if they still do though.
