Thread: Struttin with some BBQ

    Default Struttin with some BBQ

Louie is one of my absolute favorites, and here's my laid back version, compared to his romping versions of his hot 5/7s. I've had a couple martinis, so my vid is imperfect to say the least, but what the hell. I won't keep it up long. On my Guild tenor.

This song is about about stepping out with the Ladies as far as I know. Nothing to do about bbq. Anyone expand on the meaning of the lyrics?

That was great! Not sure what you mean about nothing to do about BBQ as there are many references to ribs and such.

Hey Thanks Charley. I'm pretty sure it's about going out on the town .Stepping out with the Ladies for a fine evening. Still happening today, but nobody writes about it anymore. Or....... a woman stepping out with man.......

Well according to Cab Calloway's Hepster dictionary, BBQ is the term for a girlfriend or arm candy...........

Well of course BBQ is innuendo, lots of blues written about it.......

I just recalled that my friend, Marshall Wyatt, of Old Hat Records put together an entire album of vintage blues and jazz songs about BBQ a few years ago........

Great liner notes and photo's as well.
