    Default Engraved truss rod covers?

Is the engraved TRC on this Collings/Nugget O'Brien model made of silver/metal? Does anyone sell one like it that you could have custom engraved? Thx!

Try doing a Google search on Custom metal banjo truss rod covers. You might find more than you'll find if you specify mandolin and they are the same size. I've bought them in pearl but never metal.

Mark - If you want an engraved TRC,buy some sheet 'metal, make your own & then send it to a good engraver to be polished & engraved. There are engravers who would engrave a MOP TRC for you as well as a metal one,so there's more than one option.

I had a TRC made by Bryan England's Custom Inlay guys for a once owned banjo. It was a lovely piece of work. http://www.custominlay.com/home.html It maybe worth while contacting those guys ,
    Ivan

PS - I was looking at Bruce Weber's new Montana Lutherie website yesterday & this TRC caught my eye.

Neither custom or engraved, I suspect the nickel plated TRC on my 1922 A4,

was to call attention to the introduction of the truss rod being in the necks

where none had been in earlier production years, or lesser models .

like the plain A0 I have, from a similar year..

    Any speculation on this ?

What about having an ebony or some other wood TRC, and having a luthier do an inlay on it? Just a thought....

Reid - That's one of the things that Bryan England's guys do. - https://shop.custominlay.com/Truss-Rod-Covers_c41.htm

If they haven't got 'exactly' what you want, they'll find a way to make it for you,
    Ivan

PS - They made the TRC on my Weber. Bruce Weber didn't have a piece of MOP big enough at the time,so he farmed it out to Bryan's guys, & it's immaculate !.

Or they had some sheet metal lying around and hadn't gotten the cheaper sheet plastic yet?
