Default string help for Pono BN-20 DSB Baritone/Tenor Guitar

I'm looking in to a Pono, BN-20 DSB, Baritone/Tenor Guitar with 23" scale. It Is strung with nylon strings and comes tuned to DGBE, Chicago Tuning, but I want to tune it in 5ths to GDAE, with nylon strings. Can any of you help me determine if it can be done in a playable way and if so what size nylon strings to use. Thank you!

    You could try .28p .38p .34w .45w.
I don’t think you can get a wound A to work very well.

Thank you Fox, to be clear, are you saying these sizes are in nylon?

Yes, I buy classical guitar singles.
Those gauges are what I used, after a bit of experimentation, on a guitar I built for a customer.
They were ok on that particular guitar and should at least give you a good starting point.
I have never handled a Pono and I don’t know the sting gauges it comes with but the stings I used are around 55lb - 60lb total on a 23” scale.
I am not over keen on a plain A but I don’t think you will get a wound nylon string to work very well on a 23” scale.

Okay, fox, I did get the tenor guitar. Now, when I get it in my hands I will try to come up with a suitable string arrangement to come to GDAE. I have several sets of classical guitar strings and hope I can figure out something close to what you suggested. We'll see. thank for your input. Blessings, J.C. Bryant

Close enough might disappoint you, it took me a long time working with a capo, tuner and lots of single strings and I still think there is a better sound to be had by tuning the third fret to GDAE.
With a capo fitted that would give you around 19.5” scale and the you can then use a wound A.
    So that would be .30p .24w .36w .50w and 58lb of tension.
I used those strings on this one....
