Default New Jonathan Mann 5 string

Hey everyone, thought I'd share this beauty that Jon made me over at Manndolins. Here's the specs:

    Semi hollow body
Flamed maple top w/ Honeyburst finish
    Maple/cherry/maple back
    18.25 length scale
    Dimarzio rail style pickup
    GFS mini Humbucker

I've been really impressed with not only the look but more importantly the sound. Very clean, easy to play.Click image for larger version.

    Cool mando!
I've been drooling of Jon's work for years.

How are you tuning it (CGDAE or GDAEB)? What gauges of strings are you using?

Good questions Daniel. I had a Mann SEM-5 and he builds great emandos. Still got the Tele but the Mann 5 is gone because I was looking for an 8 string sound. btw Nice axe Kwind!!

Sorry it took me so long to reply! I’ve been tuning it GDAEB. May end up changing it to CGDAE in the future. String gauges: .010 .014 .026 .038 .052

    Thanks Kwind!

Please keep us posted. I have read that 19" is about as short as you can get for a G in that octave. I'll be interested to know if you find the string too taught, too heavy, or if you have any trouble with the intonation. Glad to know also if you have no problems and like the way it plays.
