    Default Replacement Tailpiece Covers?

So, quick question: anyone know of a good source for tailpiece covers? I don't need the whole tailpiece, just the cover. The Mandolin Store has tailpieces pretty cheap, but again, they seem to just have the whole tailpieces - not just covers by themselves.

I'm interested in finding a cover, by the way, as I have an inexpensive mandolin that I no longer play, and that I'm thinking about donating to a local community center. I lost the tailpiece a while back, and figured I ought to try to find another cover before I donate it.

This has been asked many times and the usual answer is buy a whole tailpiece. I would buy the $10.00 tailpiece.

At times covers and the tailpiece base are slightly different sizes. Buy the whole thing.

Although they look alike, there are a myriad of minute variables that might make different covers just different enough to not fit. You won't know until you try to put it on. I would either go to the trouble of completely replacing it or just giving it to them as it is. It will play exactly the same and they probably won't care.
