I recently bought a bighorn 2010 signed by Bruce Weber. I haven’t received it yet. Are these good bluegrass mandolins? With the larger chamber I thought it would cut good in the mix. Opinions and thoughts? I have 72 hours to try it out.
Thanks

Does it have F-holes or an oval hole? If it is the one I am thinking about that was in the Cafe classifieds with F-holes it should be a fine bluegrass mandolin. I have only heard good things about them.
I have been tempted by the oval holed ones in the past, they don't seem to come up for sale that often.
Enjoy your new mandolin!

It’s a f hole.
Gorgeous! Enjoy that mandolin. It should be a good one.
The one I played at Lowe Vintage was a keeper on all points (pun intended). Overpriced but I still had thoughts of taking it home. I was there to explore neck shapes for a build I was waiting on or I'd own it. Plus they look cool to me
I have owned one for 9 years and love it. Big and booming with wonderful tone. I prefer over any Collins. Enjoy it. There is a great one for sale right now at Fiddlers Green Music Shop in Austin. I played it for a while and is excellent. A great mandolin priced low 3K
I got this one for 2850 I had to jump on it.
That is a good looking mandolin, I doubt you will be disappointed. Please let us know how you like it once you get it.

It's a beauty, Congrats!
Giving this another try.
Oh, that is soooooo sweeeeet! I am jealous.
Someday when I become a real mandolin player, I want a Weber.
Enjoy - and keep us posted.
This Weber vs Collings thing smacks of Taylor vs Martin.

I have a Bighorn and it is great. They are very good and the 2 points have the largest resonating cavity of any Weber, at least the web site used to claim that. All I know is that they are loud and woody and fun to play.
I have one that I bought in 2007. I'm so in love with it. It can do anything. And look good doing it.
You're going to love it.
Check out The Past and The Curious, a fun podcast for families, kids and adults who enjoy exploring the past. In addition to tales from the past, there's always an original musical performance. I play mando, guitar, and banjo and am occasionally joined by some great musicians. It's pretty good.
On Apple Podcasts, Stitcher, Spoke, Soundcloud and more.
The only f hole Bighorn I ever played was one of the loudest mandolins I've ever played.
Very, very nice catch. Good price too. Enjoy!
Despite the high cost of living, it still remains popular...
