    Default Oval and F hole ?

    Has a mandolin ever been built that has an oval hole AND F holes on same mandolin ? I was just wondering what sound such a mandolin would sound like ?
    My two favorite pastimes are drinking wine and playing the mandolin but most of my friends would rather hear me drink wine! Adapted from quote by Mark Twain

    Yes, top English builder Paul Shippey has in the past made mandolins with both type holes.
