Lou, I looked at the left-handed guitar books on Amazon.com. I get it. The visual presentation is quite different. If you do a google search on left-handed violin you will see some materials that your friend might find helpful. There are also some left-handed mandolin materials available.

The simple answer was it doesn't exist. That was easy and simple . I would have been fine with that. Only one person. Bob explained it doesn't exist. The rest judged me for asking .
So, because you were too lazy to Google for info and decided you didn’t like our questions/suggestions we are the rude ones. Says more about you really.

Left handed violin? I've never seen anyone in an orchestra play any way other than right handed. But it does exist:

Time to stop with the personal digs and arguing. If you don't have anything positive or courteous to add to the conversation, please move on. That goes for both sides of the question and answers.

Since he plays with the fiddle in his right hand and bow in the left, and the strings are reversed, then all the notes, tabs (if such exist for fiddle), and fingerings would be the same as standard, regardless. So all I can think of is that the illustrations in a standard book might be confusing to him, as they are mirror images to what he is doing. In that case, maybe scan the illustrations, put them into a simple graphics program and mirror-invert the images, then print them out that way for him. Just a thought.

Yes Hendrix restrung his guitars. He also tuned down a half step so the strings were loose and easier to bend the notes. The last time I sae Jeff Beck he was playing right hand Fenders with lefty necks. That way there is less high E and B string behind the nut.

Maybe xerox the pages of a regular fiddle tab book and then reverse them. They can do that these days, can't they?

If you have nothing to contribute to this thread, find something else to do. Someone asked for assistance, not a request to start the discussion you want to have.

I'm a left-handed mandolin player. Chord charts are always shown for right-handed players. Outside of that, there shouldn't be an issue. I actually find it an advantage to play lefty when watching a video of someone else playing. It's like looking in the mirror. As with all things and being left-handed, you'll figure it out over time.

When I was a Tenderfoot Boy Scout, some patrol leader sent me out at a camporee, to ask others for a "left-handed tent stretcher." Never found one.

This post isn't relevant, but isn't relevance overrated?
