Re: Eddy Davis Mando
Been looking around for more resources like Eddy Davis, where an artist accompanies themselves on a single instrument, tuned in 5ths. I'm not 100% sure if tunes outside the jazz genre defy the definition of "chord melody", but I'd be open to anything that makes a single instrument sound like more.
Django Reinhardt produced some of my favorite examples, though those are few and far between. I've also listened to guys like Joe Pass, Barney Kessel, Earl Klugh, but those are all guitarists. I'd like to hear some stuff that is more directly representative of what my instrument can do in the right hands.
Are there any more gems out there like Eddy?
