Lou.
Welcome to the weber family. That is one fine looking mandolin.
Sorry , Cell phone photos is the only way I can do this. I had to do the post through my phone ,
The Weber really surprised me , So light. It has the oval tone . Amazing bottom. Lots of sustain. Feels really comfortable. It came with new J74s that are jangly. I may try some Silk and Bronze or EXP 74CMs.
It is in amazing condition for an 8 year old mandolin. Just a couple of tiny nicks the you have to look for.

What a beauty, congrats on that! You might try the Curt Mangan Bluegrass medium set for strings - I find them warmer than the J74's.

Very, very nice! Congrats sir....
I've got the J75 EXP's on the Bighorn, and it'll woof!
Despite the high cost of living, it still remains popular...
Happy NMD!!

Beautiful!
Enjoy your new Weber and the great music you'll make together!

I looked at that one more than a couple times, if I had the spare coin it would be residing at my house a month ago. Weber ovals are sweet, love the tone, and I love the neck profiles. Burst on that one is very eye pleasing as well.
yep, wish I had had the spare $

Just perfect!!
Hope you have many years of enjoyment with your new Weber

Sweeeeet . . . I am jealous.
Enjoy!
The Bitterroot line from Weber is such a good mandolin. Mine is like yours in tone, but I have always kept the J74 on them, might have try out Curt Mangan Bluegrass medium and find out how they sound.

Nice find Lou! I’m sure you have sore fingers probably having played thaybaby......... for a long time yesterday. Seems there is a case of mass MAS here right now with all the cool mandolins popping up here. Enjoy!
Thanks
Several mandolins of varying quality-any one of which deserves a better player than I am.......
Yay!
I’m recently addicted to the silk n bronze GHS...after breaking in, they have no jangle.

Lou, while the silk and steel will be less tension the silk and bronze not so. If you are looking for help with hands an extremely low setup is what I use. It takes a lot of futzing tho if humidity rises the top does and I lower my bridge, if it dries out it buzzes and I raise my bridge. It's not a big deal and the mandolin play sooooo easy and the sound is still the sound of the heavier strings. The next thing will be lighter strings.
THE WORLD IS A BETTER PLACE JUST FOR YOUR SMILE!
Congrats and enjoy Lou!

Thanks pops1. I haven't bought them yet. I did buy a set of the Curt M and I have the EXP 74CM on my The Loar LM700 (don't tell any one about The Loar lol)I just put them on a few days ago. They feel nice but 15.00 . I will be working toward the silk and Steel . I am getting quite a collection of strings.
