What Are the Outside Dimensions of a Hoffee Mandolin Case?

Would anyone who owns one of the oblong Hoffee mandolin cases offer to measure the length, width (at the headstock and at the widest part of the body), and the depth (at both ends)? I cannot find this information on the Cafe or on the Hoffee site.

Hi Cheryl,

Here are the outside dimensions of the case itself. In the appropriate directions, add about 1/4" for the clasps and about 5/8" for the rubber feet. These measurements are as close as I can estimate, given that the corners are all radiused and the whole thing is nicely rounded.

Length= 30"
Width at headstock= 7"
Width at widest point= about 12.75"
Depth at either end= 6"

Forgive the highjack please: Is there an easy way to tell whether a Hoffee case has the Thinsulate insulation?

I really don't know. Mine doesn't have the Thinsulate, so I don't know whether Hoffees with it have a tag or something to show that it is there. Hopefully, someone with a Thinsulate Hoffee will post.

My Hoffee mando case has Thinsulate lining. So far as I can tell, its dimensions are identical, and it appears identical in every way from a case without lining. The Thinsulate is sandwiched inside, between the foam lining and carbon fiber composite shell, and therefore invisible to simple inspection. The case came with a paper "3M Thinsulate (R)" tag inside the pick compartment, to indicate that it was lined. But that tag is not attached to the case in any way, and it's easily thrown away. I have no idea how one would tell whether a Hoffee case was lined or not. You might contact the manufacturer: perhaps there's some subtle, telltale clue I'm unaware of?

I contacted Jeff Hoffee.
By the serial number found inside the storage compartment, Hoffee can check manufacture records regarding the specs of the case.

Unfortunately, mine was made in the early days before the serial numbers were used. Careful inspection under the headstock pad, however, does not show any recognizable Thinsulate, so I think mine is not insulated.
