A cornerstone of Irish fiddle-playing. I do hope he is still playing his triplet style, wherever he is.

Truly one of the greatest. Just earlier this year I was trying to relearn the tune Tommy Peoples Reel but never quite got there. I'll going to give it another try in his honor.

There is another one, which was more or less inadvertently composed in his honor. Worth reading the story and maybe even learning the tune.

Even though he lived in Clare for years, Tommy's fiddling style was straight Donegal. What a loss, especially at 70. I devoted a good portion of my radio show "Celtic Winds" to his memory this afternoon, and yes, he was brilliant in so many ways. Playing "Julia Delaney" off the Bothy Band '1975' disc still makes your eyes pop out.

Terrible sad news, was just working on The Kinnycally Jig last week and thinking about all the great tunes Tommy Peoples wrote. May he Rest in Peace.

I had the great honor of accompanying Tommy for a week's worth of gigs in New Mexico back in 2004. I'll never forget the experience of sitting next to him, his music exploding off his fiddle like Zeus throwing thunderbolts. RIP Tommy. Thanks for the music and the friendship.
