Came with what I'd guess to be a couple decades of dust and the most bowed neck.

Wondering if anyone knows who converted this Teisco tenor.

Teisco (AKA Windsor, Kawai, Splendor) C4BJ-2V. C for concert, 4 for 4 string, BJ for banjo, 23" scale. Built '67/'68.
The 6 string was more common of course, but I recently came across a 5 string which the seller said was '66. He'd bought in NOS with hang tag a year prior. Foolishly I jumped on it to have as a companion for this one. I'd already failed at 5 string banjo. LOVE the 8 string though and always have an eye open for a 4 string.

I was just wondering if anyone here might recognize it, that is might know who owned/converted it. Super slim chance , I know.

Yup. They also made some with a wonderful green burst and an ivory (or is it white that's aged?) finish.

I love the weight and balance and neck profile.

I have wondered if the tenor was an afterthought, maybe a way to use up some bodies. When I opened it up I saw that the neck pocket had been filled to accommodate the smaller neck and the body had been routed a second time for different pickup placement.

Jim: I found out after buying it that it's a No. 0901 Electric Baritone Uke. "As easy to play as a ukulele, only a lot more fun....)
Great pickup. This one's branded Kamico. The bridge string spacing is too wide which I think messes up the intonation, the high and low strings angle out too much making them too long - ?
