    Default Eastman Blues

This has been knocking around for a while now. Mandolins don't move well around here, but is this a bad deal? Just academic to me, but I'm curious what y'all think.

305’s are nice little mandolins. Some are better than others. Are you close enough to try it out?

Agree, looks like a decent price. I have a 315 that's a lotta mandolin for the money...

Good price, IMO. Just a slow market right now on used Eastman instruments. When I sold my Eastman guitar, got a lot less than I thought. Somewhat still regret selling it. Was trying to rationalize what I kept at that point.

New for $480 + case. I think it's a decent deal. If it's been offered for a while, might get it for $300

Over 25% off, so that isn't a bad deal at all.

I know a store that sells these for $399 new, so yes $300 is more like the used price.

Most all that I have seen are $479.00 new, with a gig bag. Purchased at an instrument shop, most places, you can add in sales tax. So, $300.00 with a gig bag is reasonable. Plus he's throwing in a strap which might cost about $20.00. They're not bad mandolins at all.

That company is vast. Guitar Center, Music and Arts, Musician's Friend, Music 123, along with Woodwind & Brass-wind, I believe?

I would recommend trying it or an approval period. In general I expect 70% of retail when I buy used so that's close.

Thank you all for your valued opinions. I must point out here, though, that as I stated, I am not looking to buy this mandolin right now. I am currently maxed out with two, and won't even be thinking about another until Christmas at the soonest. But I've been following it, and as it seems to be a nice instrument, I can't figure why nobody has grabbed it yet. Hey, if it's still kicking around in December, I may be too tempted to resist, but for now I just wanted to ask what everybody else thought about it.

    Roger,

I have seen that on Craigslist lately too (they are listing it here in nearby Richmond as well). I have all I need right now too or else I would buy it.
